Report on Online Lectures
Complying with the correspondence of UGC and Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (Deemed to be University) Leh has initiated online lectures during the current COVID-19 pandemic involving large number of experts, teachers and pupils. The first online lecture was conducted on 16th June 2020 through institute’s Youtube and shared on facebook page. Prof. Dr. Jamyang Gyaltsen was the invited expert who presented his lecture on “Development of Bhoti Text Books in Ladakh”. Besides his informative lecture, he also displayed his collection of Bhoti text books starting from 1926.
The second lecture in series was organized on 25th June, 2020 through Facbook Live. Khenpo Lobsang Tsultrim, Lecturer, CIBS was the invited speaker who delivered his lecture on “Simple Way of Understanding the Buddha and His Teaching”. His lecture was attended and appreciated by large number of audience from different countries. Questions from the audience were also answered at the end of the lecture.
The lectures were technically supported by Ms. Kunzang Dolma, Software Engineer and Samstam Gurmed, Media Specialist, CIBS.
The Director Prof. Konchok Wangdu thanked the guest speakers and audience for their successful participation.
