The Institute has its own research programme in which at a time eight research scholars pursue their research on Buddhism and allied subjects. For this the institute provides institutional fellowships. The Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, to which this Institute was affiliated, has, so far, awarded the degree of Vidya Varidhi (Ph.D.) to nine scholars from this Institute and two of them are working at the Institute on various posts while other awardees are serving in other universities and institutions of the country. Apart from this, the institute is going to introduce Self-Financing Ph.D. programmes in other subjects such as Pali, English, Hindi, Indian History, Political Science and Economics.
