Report on National Webinars
During the current COVID-19 pandemic almost all higher education institutions (HEIs) around the world have initiated online teachings, online seminars, workshops, webinars involving large number of teachers and pupils. Complying with the correspondence of UGC and Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (Deemed to be University) Leh has also initiate weekly webinars and lectures online. The webinars are being conducted by the Departments of the Institute, following the guideline designed by the Institute through CIBS facebook page/ Google Meet, Zoom etc. The theme and topics are selected by the concerned Departments to meet the aims and objective of the Institute and the subject area of the department to benefit not only the teachers and students but also larger audience in the world.
The third national webinar was organized by the Dept. of Baudh Puranic History, CIBS on 19th June, 2020 on the topic “History of Ladakh 7th -12th Century”. The webinar was hosted by Khenpo Shedrup Konchok, Head of the Dept. of Baudh Puranic History. The first speaker Ven. Thupstan Paldan presented his presentation focussing on Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo and his contribution. Second speaker Dr. Stanzin Mingyur, Lecturer, CIBS also presented his presentation on the above mentioned topic. The enlightening and informative presentations were followed by questions and answers. The webinar was conducted through Zoom App and shared through CIBS facebook page to benefit maximum audience.
Institute’s webinar programme, fourth in series was conducted by the Department of Bhot Baudh Dharshan on the topic “The Concept of Interdependence and Covid-19” through Zoom and also shared through CIBS facebook page. The national webinar was hosted by Khenpo Konchok Namdak, Lecturer, CIBS. The speakers include Dr. Urgyan Dadul, Reader, CIBS and Geshe Dakpa Kalsang, Head of the Dept. of Bhot Baudh Dharshan. The both speakers have presented impressive and inspiring papers, touching every aspects of the said topic. It was followed by questions and answers.
The theme and topics were selected by the concerned Departments to meet the aims and objective of the Institute and the subject area of the department to benefit not only the teachers and students but also larger audience in the world.
The webinar was technically supported by Ms. Kunzang Dolma, Software Engineer and Samstam Gurmed, Media Specialist, CIBS.
