About the Department:

The Department of Social Science is one of the largest departments of the Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (Deemed to be University) in terms of number of subjects and students. The Department of Social Science was established in the year of 2016 with four subjects, namely History, Political Science, Economics and Physical Education. Later on three more subjects (Computer Science, Science and Mathematics) have been included in this Department. Presently, the department runs Under-Graduate Courses in the above mentioned disciplines. Dr. Prem Singh Jina was the first HOD of this Department. The Department has also been organizing Workshops, Seminars/ Webinars, and Conferences.
