Pratityasamutpada is indeed a gem of all Buddhist doctrines, the law of causation. In Buddhist philosophy, existence, casualty, change, momentary are synonymous. According to this system, elements rise because of change in the causes. They are momentary, a flu, a stream not linking one another. Further, effect produces not by a single cause but by multiple causes, mere presence of seed is insufficient to produce a sprout but it requires additional conditions. so names combined-origination or co-production by aggregation of multiple causes. In this volume several scholars write the significance of the above subject.
