The Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS), Leh is inviting applications for admission to the First Year of various courses for the academic session 2026 under NEP-2020.

About the Admission

The Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS), Choglamsar, Leh (UT of Ladakh),
offers specialized traditional and modern courses in Buddhist philosophy, literature, arts, and Himalayan knowledge systems.

(A) Shastri (Bachelor of Arts) with the Major Course in the following subjects:

4.Sanskrit Buddhist Philosophy
5.Comparative Philosophy
6.Sanskrit Literature
(B)1.Bachelor of Fine Arts with Thanka Painting as the Major Course
2.Bachelor of Fine Arts with Himalayan Wood Carving as the Major Course
3.Bachelor of Fine Arts with Himalayan Sculpture as the Major Course
4.Bachelor of Bhot Astrology & Astronomy as the Major Course
(C)1.Acharya (Master of Arts) in Bhot Bauddh Darshan
2.Acharya (Master of Arts) in Bhoti Literature
3.Acharya (Master of Arts) in Bhot Puranic History
4.Acharya (Master of Arts) in Sanskrit Buddhist Philosophy
5.Acharya (Master of Arts) in Comparative Philosophy
6.Acharya (Master of Arts) in Sanskrit Literature

📝 Note: Knowledge of Bhoti language is mandatory for all courses.

🎯 Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor Courses: 12th Pass
• Acharya Courses: Graduation Degree from a recognized institution

📅 Important Dates

• Application Form Availability: 02 February 2026 – 28 February 2026
• Entrance Test Date: 7 March 2026 (Saturday)
