PhD Admission Details at CIBS

  • Subjects Offered: Bhot Bauddha Darshan, Sanskrit Bauddha Darshan, Bhoti Literature, Sanskrit Literature, Comparative Philosophy, and Bauddha Puranic History.
  • Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent CGPA). 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree with Honours and Research (min 75% marks) also qualifies. Relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Differently-Abled.
  • Research Entrance Test (RET): Conducted at CIBS, Leh. The test consists of 100 MCQs (3 hours): 50% Research Methodology and 50% Subject-Specific. Qualifying marks: 150 (General) and 135 (Reserved).
  • Application Timeline: Hardcopy submission to the Examination Department within 21 days from 28th May 2026. Late submission possible until 11th June 2026 with an additional late fee.
  • Direct Entry Exemptions: Candidates who have cleared UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, CEED, or SLET are exempted from the RET, though they must still undergo an interview/presentation.
  • Fees: ₹1000 (General) or ₹700 (Reserved/EWS/Differently-Abled). Extra charges apply if appearing in two subjects.
